Hey guyz.. Just removing my grill so I can spray it a diff colour.. But the screw won't come out of the plastic piece covering it.. From the look of the 2 that have come out, the screws screw into the piece of plastic it sits in. But they won't unscrew, if I just force them out will they be ok? As the plastic bit they screw into isn't the actual plastic that is mounted to the car if you understand what I'm saying.. Bit hard to explain.

There called "Scrivets"

You dont apply much pressure to them upon taking them out and the screw and outer piece are both plastic. so just force it out with a flatblade screwdriver or cut the head off with some sidecutters, then go and get another one.

As I said though, when you get another one, dont apply too much pressure, you pretty much just turn it and let the screw do the work :)

I have found if you apply a bit of sideways pressure to the flat outer you can undo the screw centre bit , but very gingerly, on the way back in you just put the outer in & simply push the centre in no need to put the phillips head anywhere near them

The threads on the scrivets can easily be dethreaded preventing them from unscrewing unless you use a flathead screwdriver to apply pressure from the sides. On the otherhand, just use a pair of pliers and pull them out then when it comes time to assemble the grill, just got to spare parts and buy some. I went and bought some as some of mine got forcefully removed when fitting the trans cooler. You won't believe howmany scrivets had to be unscrewed.
