Hi

I'm looking for assistance or suggestions for getting my TH Magna started and back on the road. I live in Brisbane's northside near Toombul shopping centre.

Before I get started I've read a lot of threads about the BEM/immobiliser starting relating issue & though my symptoms seem to fit this cause/problem/solution, I've looked at/cleaned all of the relevant connectors and have so far had no luck. The car has had an intermittent fault where it will crank over but not start --- in the past it would start eventually splutter alive if you pumped the gas enough and turn the ignition on and off, but over the last few days I've had no luck.

The spark plugs are sparking / the fuel pump appears to be working / I've checked all of the fuses and have had no luck..... I really don't want to go to a mechanic if I can at all avoid it.... I'm actually looking at getting a newer car and because of the high Kms coupled with sorry paint probably means I'd have trouble selling it for any more than 2K, and their are a number of small things I need to get done for a roadworth - I don't think it's really worth all the work. I bassically want to get it started and then hope someone will take it off my hands for about 1K.

RACQ weren't terribly helpful -- didn't want to touch it and said they could arrange to have it towed to a mechanic....

If anyone can help I'd be very very grateful.
Thanks
John

By a long shot, could it be a fault in the IAC/Stepper motor?

Have had this go in a previous Magna V6 of mine. Symptoms are similar to yours, car will crank just fine, but will refuse to maintain idle.

Does your tacho move up at all and then drop back to 0 rpm?

ISC will not kill the car

Check that you have]
Fuel Pressure
Injector Pulse

If you are missing one of the above you will then know where to start
