Hi,

I have the bluetooth kit in the new 380 and be buggered if I can figure out how to get it to work..doesn't seem to cover it in the basic manual.

Do you have to configure the 380's bluetooth or just at the N97 end as it just didn't apprear to be working.

Thanks

If you can find what Parrot bluetooth model is fitted to the car, it may be possible to update (http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/downloads/texte_fck_2/image/ck3x00_update_procedure__en.pdf) the firmware via bluetooth on a laptop. I can't find the model yet, but the software versions are 3.18 or 3.20. Perhaps connect via Bluetooth in a laptop may reveal the type that is fitted and go from there.
I can't help you there, I have aftermarket pioneer bluetooth. Which, incidently, wont support N97's, but I have loaded a plugin to support my phone.

By initial enquiries, it may be a CK3000. It seems that Mike knows this after perusing the parrot forums.

But by the Parrot website, the 3.20 version does not exist, which means I'd download the software and let that search for me.

Have you deleted all the users on the BT and tried

I had the same issue with iPhone and a delete and reconnect sorted it

does the N97 even find the BT

also remember there is a password for BT as well

You mean on the phone or the in-car unit? I have no idea of how to even turn the incar stuff on let alone get passwords etc.

simple..if the car kit will work with the N97 , i had issues with my E71 but it did connect after a couple try's..
turn the car on , get your phone to search for bluetooth devices , the Parrot thing will be listed..
connect to that , and it will ask for a password , cant remember if it's 1234 or 0000

OK

Turn on car

press both telephone buttons on the dash till you hear the lady say clearing memory

then once you hear that let go of the buttons

next turn your phones bluetooth on and get it to search for devices

if you see parrot cm connect to it on your phone

it will ask for a password on your phone and the code is 1234

it will then sync up and you should here an audible beep

then BT is ready to go

Thanks guys,

I got as far as discovering the parrot device 3.18 and then the n97 says it can't pair the device so probably password but both car and phone are new.

interesting.

As Mecha said, try wiping the memory first, I had a similar issue where the phone would see the BT then refuse to connect because the memory was already full (limited to three I think it was). The only other time I saw the same issue is if there was another phone within range that it was already paired with (if you're pairing a second handset).

it's 1234 for the password.

Did you get it to work???

If my wife pairs up she has to delete me sometimes even though it is suppose to keep 3 in memory

takes all of 2 seconds and saves me a $200 fine so I dont mind doing it everyweek if I have to

Hey, i had a similar problem with one of my customers nokia 5800 and the 380 carkits, it would find the parrot but then when you went connect it would just error, according to nokia the carkit may not be compatible and they wont guarantee anything thats not nokia (typical).
Thought of trying a update on the carkit but could not find what model it was.
