i got a 1998 tf sports

i brought it with the key alone and i wanting to know if it already has keyless entry built into this model

if so
- how much is it to get the remote (programed and all) from a dealer ship
-is there a alternate way like a aftermarket one which just needs to be programed

Yes, it has keyless central locking built in.
For around $50 you can get a remote from mitsubishi.
For a little less you may be able to get one from ebay. You will need a single button remote for it. Not a tri button that is used for the TJ's and later.

Pretty sure the single button remote was for the TE's. My TF uses the three-button remote with the white buttons. The TH's onwards used the three-button remotes with the red/green/white buttons.

Anyway there's a said remote on ebay for $99.99 atm. Mr Mint charge ~$120. When I bought my remote back in 2004 it cost me $80 from mitsubishi.

Just go to a Mitsu dealer with your VIN. Their prices for the remotes are surprisingly reasonable and most will have them in stock.
