Hi all,

Just got myself an awesome black 04 TL VRX a few months ago, being reading this forum since then and what a great forum this is! Hopefully I could post up my car in the next few weeks. This is my first post! :facejump:

Anyways some of the head lamp bulbs have gone out on me at various stages and I was wondering if anyone could confirm what replacement bulbs I need to get? The bulbs that have gone out are:

Right fog light
Left parker light

I've done some research on my own using this forum but cant seem to get consistent information for the TL magna, especially the fog light in the VRX. My car is lowered (don't know which springs, its about 100mm clearance at the front) so I cant get access to the fog lights easily! So I went to philips website and I have made a list of bulbs that fits the TL magna according to the site:

High/Low beam - H4 (need 12v 60/55w according to manual) //for both big reflector (low beam) and small reflector (high beam)??? or do I need H1 12v 55w for high beam (as posted in the FAQ (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57256))
Fog lamp - HB4 9006 (12v 51W) //there seems to be two different types of fog lamps for Magna and Vereda, could someone confirm if type 1 or type 2 (as in the manual) is the right one for the VRX? They seem to use different bulbs as the connectors are different.
Parker light - W5W (12V 5W)

Could someone who owns a VRX and have done this before please confirm if these are correct? The reason I want to confirm all of them is that I really want to replace all my lights in one go, considering how hard it is to change the left side bulbs (as many have pointed out previously here). Once I buy all the bulbs I'll probably start another thread to get help on the hands on stuff! I've got some free time now and I cant drive the car for three months anyways might as well fix up the car while I'm suspended. Yes I'm seriously learning my lesson now to not ignore speed signs in a work zone!

Any help is much appreciated!

Low Beam - H4
High Beam - H7
Foglight - H7

i don't know about the parkers because i haven't changed them yet.

access to fog light is via the back, behind the front bar, its not very hard to change that :)
and yes, changing the left side headlight is a bitch.
I have replaced the high beam, low beam and foglights with Osram Nightbreakers, they can be found on ebay for cheap, they work well with the TL/TW para design.

Thanks for that Boozer! I'll definitely check them out. Have you got any tips for the left side change? The manual says:

1. "remove the left hand side front wheel assembly...",
2. "Remove front of inner splash shield..."

does that mean I have jack up my car on the left side and remove my left front tyre, then disassemble the splash shield? Looking at Mitsubishi service manual for TL, it seems like the splash shield is one big piece bolted on with multiple screws. Assuming it is flexible I have to get my hand squeeze through some kinda hole and change the bulbs? How much time would I need on my first go and what are the chances that I may break the splash shield?

you do have to remove the wheel and a few screws to flex the splash guard back a little, i did lot of it by touch as i couldn't be bothered to get all the splash guard off. Its a bitch of a method but it comes with the car that i enjoy driving and its not something that needs replacing too often so its not so bad after all.

Cheers Boozer. Will report back when I get my bulbs from power bulbs. They have Philips parkers as free gifts atm so I think its a fairly good deal for me. Stay tuned and many thanks for you help so far, much appreciated!
