Has anyone replaced the Cam Cap O-ring themselves?

Its the cap on the right side of the block just below the front rockercover. Looking at it I have to remove a whole lot of other crap like the waterpump assembly to get one of the 2 bolts off.

I'm wondering if I can just remove two bolts on this assembly and shimmy it out of the way to give the Cam Cap bolt enough clearence to be removed.

Thanks to anyone who can help. Let me know if I need to post photos. The o-ring itself is worth $10 from Mits Spares.

There are 2 ways

The way I do it is to remove the transfer pipe and do the seal, I also do dist seal at the same time as these will generally leak as well

The other way is to undo the top bolt for the cap as far as you can and then cut it off, remove the cap, remove the protruding thread and replace with a shorter bolt, 8x1.25 thread

I do not like doing it this way, not for any reason other than I tend to do things properly.

I got it done on my TF, I managed to get it off without removing anything elese. You might want to replace the o-ring on distributor arm as well it knows to leak oil from there as well (from memory they are same size o-rings). Try using 12mm long spaner and tighten all nuts to 23Nm.
