Our Verada has now been in Mitsubishi for 6 weeks trying to fix it..After over 2 weeks they decided it was the ecu giving the problems..Sent to some "guru" in Sydney to check and repair if possible..Of course he could not and since then they have been stuffing around trying to get an after market ECU.I immediately asked if a second hand one could be used but was told no..After another 2 weeks they told me they were looking for a second hand one,but had to get the whole lot of the ECU,BCM,keys,barrels and Immobilisor computer..Funny now it is ok.
Still another 2 weeks and no joy so I am going to do their job for them..
I have found the whole computer set up for the car..It is a series II 2003 verada,which apparently has a few extras and that is why the BCU set up is a bit rarer than others..
My question is if the BCU is the problem,if I get one with the same number,as I have,is that all I need.The Immobilisor computer is one digit out.MR924212 and I can get MR924211..Is that needed or if so is it close enough..

I have had enough so any info will be very much appreciated..

I am astounded a dealer would do this, even a brand new ecu is only like 600 bucks from mits and with the muttII they can program the keys and bem to a new ecu

tell me your config mate and i will see if i can find a second hand unit ie 4 or 5 speed tippy annd i assume traction control. being a rada i would think 5 speed tippy?

Yeah all true..Mitsubishi on the Central Coast NSW...Crap and feed lots of crap...Must go thru a load of paper wiping their chins..Cannot argue though as we brought it in February and never owned Mitsu before..Love the car but hate the service..
I have rung several Mitsu dealers and all say up to $2600.00 for new ECU...
5 speed tiptronic with traction...ECU number at the moment MR507346 and the immobilisor is MR924212...Sick of paying rego and insurance and getting nothing for it..
