I was wondering if anyone has the mitsubishi rear sun guard on their 380? If so, how is the fit?

Something I noticed a while back but forgot about until recently; I purchased my 380VRX just over a year ago, used, and it came with one attached. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that there were small gaps between the roof of the car, and the sun guard at the corners. It also appears that they used thick double sided sticky tape (or something that looks like it) to secure those bracket things to the windscreen on the sides.

When I first noticed this, I was worried that it could come off while driving and cause some damage (not to the car, but to other people/cars etc) But it seems stuck on pretty good and hasn't budged. Still, it kind of bothers me, and I'm thinking of removing the sun guard.

It just seems a bit sus to me, the gaps and the tape. Like someone slapped another brand on regardless of fit.

I bought a couple of Magna rear sun-shades from the Mitsi Clearance place that was at Lonsdale. They attach exactly the same way you have described for your 380. There is a "primer" pen supplied which you wipe over the clean glass before placing the double-sided tape - it smells strongly of some volatile miracle substance, and it seems to work like a charm.

The rear sunshade on both my cars has not budged, including going thru auto car-washes (the rotary brush kind)..... I have to admit to being nervous the first time I took a car through, but no dramas.

We also have the side "weathershields" on another TJ in the family - tiny narrow plastic things which attach to the edges of the roof panel and extend just barely over the tops of the side-window glass. These attached the same way - clean the paint, prep with the "primer pen" then place the double-sided tape in position. Once again, these things have been on that car now for 3 yrs or so - no problems.

I think your rear shade will be fine, if you like the look and find it functional - leave it alone and I am confident it will stay put!!

I really want one of these sunshades for my VRX. Do they actually make them for the 380 and if so where do i get one.

I should think that you'd be able to order them through your local dealership.

There's a photo of one on this page:

Doesn't look too bad, might help keep some sun off the rug rats in the back seat.

I'm not a grandpa yet although I'm old enough to be a great-grandpa!

I thought you all meant the shades that car used to have over the front windscreen. That rear one looks pretty small.
