Hey All,

Whenever I start my car and move in reverse there is this noise, like a handbrake grabbing or something, and I move in reverse slowly and also in first gear and make this musical tone. Its the only way I can describe it. Its embarrassing when you drive off in front of people and I have no idea where the noise has come from. It wasnt there when I bought the car 13 months ago. Id say its been there for 4 months.

Any ideas?

Its an 03 Sports Series 2 TJ - Manual. =)

Will more than likely be the handbrake I would suspect, should just need an adjustment and the noise will go away.

Yep I had a similar sound develop a few days after having my handbrake adjusted. Took it back and they fixed it.
