hey guys
my 96 2.6 EFI TS magna has started idleing really low (like 400 rmp or less) and most of the time to the extent that it stalls, even between gear changes when driving. doesnt seem to matter weather the engline is hot or cold.
any idea whats causing thing and how to get it sorted ?
thanks :D

Idle stepper motor <-- gets my vote! Usually die after 15 years or 200,000 Km.
Just jack up the idle speed with the screw on the front of the throttle body - under a plug if it hasn't been disturbed before. Raise it to 800 rpm (or 1,000 if you have an auto or plan to use the aircon), should be about right to keep you driving without the frustration.
Look at eBay for another one - I paid $115 for one several years ago. Mitsu has them and they can be rewired, but is more expensive.

Idle control motor, for sure. Just be aware that a number of non-genuine makers have put out idle control motors to suit this model. Stick with the genuine Mits part as it will be of better quality and last longer.
