I want rear A/C vents for the kids! As it's getting really hot here I was wondering are they availible and would they be overly expensive?

They came out in the TL/W's and maybe the TJ's
Your gonna need a centre console from one of them, however im not sure how easy it is to hook up the rear vents
I've tried it. It's do-able but a dash out - new loom job, if you don't have the climate control a/c.
You won't need a center console from a TL/TW, rather just the add-on console part that sits ontop of the center console storage that has the vents on the back of it. You'll also need need the ducting that goes from the dash to the center console. The manual a/c central vents don't have the "spout" that the auto a/c has. It's this spout that spits out the air to the rear vents. This is also the vent that has the all he motors stuck onto it for the auto a/c, which is where the change of loom is required, if you are going to swap to that - hence the dash out.
What I'm not sure about is if the later model TJ's with the manual a/c had the spout on the center vent, or if the motors on the auto a/c center vent could be pulled off to allow control via the manual wires, then it would make for a hell of an easier install. But I never looked in that direction at the time.
Besides, the rear vents only trickle the air out compared to the front ones. To me it wasn't worth the trouble.

iirc the altera's had rear ducting under the front seats. might be worth checking first.

Dont know what there is to wire in given that these are plastic tubes
You have 2 options, Altera upwards have the floor vents, go under each seat, TL, W have them in the centre console if you choose this option
Both option feeds air from the bottom of the heater box so can be done dash in with a little patience

Either do it yourself or get a member to help you , auto elec and aircon people will charge you through the ears and prob will tell not that you can not do it
It is simple, remove front seats, remove console, put in plastic and re assemble
