Hey guys, just noticed this today (dunno how long its been going on for) when i am in full lock reversing into my driveway today iheard a noise. Now usually i have my music going so i wouldn't hear it, but i drove back out and hung out the window and head it again. so when i stopped hte car i look and on the front right side on the inside of the wheel arch (the part that attaches to the front bumper) its worn away from scrubbing. would there be an issue if i removed this front wheel arch cover? or should i pull the wheel off and see if i can secure it tighter/further away from the wheel. i dnot wanna ruin my tires or have that break on me.

cheers boys

I've heard of other members removing the cover due to the wheel scrubbing and haven't reported any issues. It's only thin plastic so you won't be damaging your tyres when it scrubs.

Might be worth trying to pull it further away from the wheel though. My left side cover is fine, but like you, my right side has worn away - but it's always bent inwards towards the wheel. I imagine you could put two small holes in the cover and then use cable ties to fix it to something behind the bumper.

Or just travel around 200km down the highway and watch it wear away right in front of your eyes!

Tow hooks work wonders for this assignment.

Failing that, get your employer to pull it off and cut a circle out around the damaged area. He does so love working on Magna's. :D

yeah i just dont want it to fall into 2 pieces or brake, i might pull it back and tape it. i knew it was there to stop stones and stuff flicking up (a stone has slit my driveshaft seal :( ) so i may just try my best to fix it if not ill just have to deal with it hehe :)

thanks guys

Could try heating it up and reshaping it or just don't go full lock

i think its just on full lock. ccould happen with speed or a bump.

ill try making sure all the screws are in because i removed my front bumper a while ago and could be because a screw was forgotten to be put back in properly

This worked for me.
