So, when i have my bass going loud, my mirror rattles and is highly annoying.

Anyone got a good solution for it? I was thinking putting something behind the glass, but im not sure how, anyone done it before?

All my mirrors bounce up and down when I turn up the bass....I call it ambiance lol Seriously i don't think there much you can do... turn down the music?

mine rattles from the solid engine mounts, permanantly, extremely annoying. If you hold the plastic housing tightly does it stop? Or is it just a vibration (which makes it a blurry mirror)

Yeaha when i hold it it stops. Really really annoying sound.

Anyone know if its possible to pull apart the housing?

Might not be attached properly. Make sure it's pushed all the way onto the base.

I encountered this problem a few years ago when I got a decent system with a sub. I drilled holes in the caseing of the mirror and pumped it full of silicone - bathrom tile sealant I think it was.

Still good a few years later, never rattles. Though some small distortions have appeared in the reflectlive lining behind the mirror glass..doesn't bother me however.

There's gotta be a better/more elegant way to deal with the problem, but hey mine worked :P

These mirrors are held on by four tiny piss weak plastic lugs which break off very easily, and once they are broken they can't be repaired. If two of the four are broken (very common) then the mirror will still mount OK but it will be loose and vibrate. I had to replace the mirror on my TE twice, due to clumsy passengers knocking the mirror and snapping of the lugs. Last time was when I traded it in on the 380, Sept 08, new mirror cost $65 from the dealer IIRC. Hard to find at the wreckers because those lugs break so often.

As Disciple says, make sure you slide it all the way onto the mount, very easy to to think it's on properly when in fact you still have a couple of mm to go.
