yes on a second gen for sure

its a common problem along with faulty ISC idler motor

Change idle motor first. Clean out throttle body and intake with carby cleaner. install catch can to prevent oily mess going back inside motor.

catch can isnt necesary per say but if you dont add one more regular cleaning would be beneficial (like every 30ooo)

part of the problem was the isc as it has no power to it thanks to the lpg fitter cutting wires that he shouldn't have. apparently the mechanic i went to had played around with the idle screw behind the tps which in turn threw the tps out. idle screw adjusted now the gear thumping has gone and the idle is under control but will be better once i get the wiring fixed to the isc. gee's this car has cost me a bit trying to get it running properly. but thanks to this different mechanic who found my idle problem we could be near the end of it all. just do the wiring and put some new driveshafts in to stop the vibration in the front end and hopefully that should be it, but i must remember it is a magna.
