And would they be better than the Sony's I have in the car now? Is Fusion a name brand? Reason for asking is I hear some vibration in the left rear speaker and I've been tossing up replacing them for a while now. And this price looks pretty good.

Googling says they are a model from 2008??

Not sure how true it is but I was told that the brand Fusion started off as a couple of guys 're-branding' cheap asian made speakers and then selling them on.

Personally? You couldn't give me free Fusion speakers. My sister bought a sub and amp package against my advise and the amp died a week after the 'warranty' ran out and then the supposedly 300WRMS sub blew when we fed it 200WRMS from the new Clarion amp.

Just my opinion though

You would be better off with Pioneer or Clarion if you want something cheap that sounds good. Fusion gear is just loud as **** with no acoustic merit.

Reason why they blew is coz you underpowered the sub. You do more damage to a speaker to under power. you are better off overpowering the speaker if anything.

as far as fusion speakers are concerned i would rather listen to a dog with diahorea. if it was up to me, ALPINE all the way.

Ha these threads are pointless and just involve brand bashing.

There is always one person that thinks Alpine is the bomb. IMO you couldn't give me Alpine unless it was a headunit - even then I am not happy with one that is only 2 years old failing. But that is, my opinion....

As far as reliability Fusion are built fairly well if you start in the mid range. The bottom of the range is exactly that - cheap and built to a cost.

As for how the speaker sounds, that is up to your ears. People like the way different things sound. Once mounted - it doesn't matter what brand it is because it is hidden so it is not like clothes....

As far as just being loud - Fusion have a woofer that has won awards all over the world against other woofers in the same price bracket for SQ and SPL.

Everyone has their Bad experiences... for me it was Kenwood..

These fusions would be OK but are a tad overkill for rear speakers, Not only that, but they require an Amp to get the best sound out of them..
If you are powering these just off the Head unit then may I suggest looking at a 2-way Co-axial rather then a split set up ?

What is the rest of your system.. may be we can suggest some other speakers you might be able to use.

Basic Sony $169 JB special. Bought it for aux in and the fact the CD can play MP3's. Sony speakers front and rear.

I'll be looking later this year for a sound system upgrade - concentrating on gathering everything I need for an ECU flash in October is the higher priority. What I am thinking about is a system that can have a rear camera attached to it, so fold out 7" screen. And bluetooth with A2DP capability is a must.

Its only a Better deal if your existing head unit is crap...

JVC Speakers are not reknowned for their sound quality..

It gives me bluetooth which I don't have now. Something to think about overnight.

The head unit down there is from the 2008 range, however it's not such a big issue as they were still an awesome unit and were retailing closer to the $400 mark.. the speakers are the HX Series which are the higher range of speakers from JVC, although, still would be classed as entry overall :P they've got twin rubber roll edges on them, so you're less likly to blow them up if you crank them :P
For $200 it's a pretty good deal, I think Tufftr has the same head unit (or the model before) so you can ask him what he thinks of it too :)
