Gee, i bought one a while ago now. Possibly around the $150 for memory. You should get a new rotor while there.
They do wear/burn out. Made a massive difference to my KJ AWD.

$150 for the whole lot? Or just the cap?

Just the cap mate. Think the rotor was another $90.
If you get one from a wreckers, have a look at it and make sure the end of the rotor doesnt look burnt and also the terminals on the cap.
You can see if the look worn out/burnt away.

Bosch cap from Rockauto USA would probably set you back $70au at the moment. Not affiliated with them - have just saved a few dollars in the past.

when you guys say it made a massive difference, what were the symptoms that led you to the dizzy cap/rotor??

Mine was surging when cold. When you took off when it was cold, it felt like it was surging or out of fuel especially in 2nd or 3rd under load.
Tried everything first such as plugs/fuel filters etc but ended up being 80% rotor and 20% cap.
Back to perfect nafter that, smooth and much torquier too.
Just a warning though, i tried an aftermarket cap and it made my SVI gas system go haywire.
The cap looked identical and Mal even said they come from the same factory.
It gave off too much electromagnetic radiation which interfeared with my Gas ECU and made it go haywire.
Bought a genuine one and problem solved.
Gee, the headache trying to figure out what was wrong with gas. Had new ecu's etc thinking it was at fault and heaps of time trying to find out what it was.
Ended up being just the dizy cap.
Aparenly they are not insulated as well as the genuine ones not that this matters if you dont have gas.

As above, had is stuffed, one would think that a cap from the same manufacturer as Mits uses would be the same, how wrong we were.
Goes to show how crap Gas really is lol
The genuine ones are very expensive for what they are but after what happened above I have stopped using the aftermarket ones just in case

Touch wood never been let down, runs better on LPG than Petrol.
