Hi guys, as I am temporarily without central locking I have noticed the following.
We have 2 keys for the TF magna, one operates ignition and opens all doors + boot. The other operates ignition, doors but not boot? Anyone know why?

one's a valet key, it doesn't open the boot or glove box.

:stoopid:

and it should be a different colour (grey, not black)

EDIT: and it shouldn't open the glove box either.

That's wierd.

I also have a TF (98 solara) but both my keys are identical (Black), and both unlock everything.

Somebody call Ripleys :P

All that means is that the previous owner didnt get one, or lost it, or forgot to give it to you.

My car has only the Black key, freaky

a full set of keys is:

2 x black keys (open everything, start car)
2 x remote entry fobs
1 x grey valet key (open doors, start car)

I was quoted about $80 a key and $70 a fob from a local dealer, and then $60 to code the keys to the car.

cheers,

the boot release is in the glove box otherwise it would be pointless for the key not to unlock it ie lock the glove box give them grey key cant get in the boot

Ahhhh that makes sense then. I am only missing the grey key. But have the 2 black keys (and 2 remote fobs).

Funny I wondered the same thing when I first bought my car and the grey key didn't do anything but unlock and start it. Lol
