I have a TJ with the auto climate control and noticed that the left side illumination has stopped working (ie. the lighting behind the fan speed, a/c and outside temp buttons which sit to the left of the LCD screen - all the other lighting works fine and the unit is fully functional otherwise).

Looking at the schematics there is a bulb that runs the lighting for those buttons but Mitsu Service is trying to tell me that they can't order that bulb seperately and they would therefore need to change over the whole climate control unit.

This sounds like the usual run-around from the dealer. Has anybody done a bulb replacement on their climate control unit? It seems stupid to change out a whole unit that is otherwide working fine for just a single bulb - not to mention the $$$ that new unit would no doubt cost.

Bulbs can easily be changed. Have changed a few in the past.

Otherwise there are LED replacements which I use but they require a small bit of modding to make them look OK.
