Hi all, im sick of my amp sliding around the boot of my car, so i wanna have a crack at making a mount board that fits in on the right hand side of the boot behind the taillight. Does anyone have any tips on how its put together? I am a bit of a spanner when it comes to woodwork so any tips appreciated!

What I did was replaced the standard floor with something thicker, about 14 MDF.
Then you can just cut boards to shape and mount them to the floor with brackets, or just mount to the floor itself if you have the room.

Ditto... Just made a false floor for the entire boot... makes it a little more sturdier then that useless 5mm fibreboard thats they use stock.

yes...this is nice...(as i am now in the same posi,ie,having to mount an amp)but how and where does this board attach to and with what..????

I was thinking of doing something like this, but didnt know how to mount it to the body of the car,as such.

Also, what would i do to mount a sub in a box.....do you drill into the sub box to attach brackets etc or what...???

+1.

I currently have my amp boards drilled directly into the car :eeek: They're held in at the top and bottom with l-brackets. Over time one has simply given away (currently held in with a bungy strap lol). I would not recommend this option.

I'm redoing my boot install in the coming weeks and everything is going to be based off a false floor. Cut a bit of MDF to suit the corner of the car, attach it to the false floor by another piece of timber or a bracket (hidden behind the mounting board), and screw into place.

You don't have to be a pro with the jigsaw either, as carpet will cover minor imperfections in your cutting.
