i know there are a few of us out there who are using them, but im intending to install mine very soon.
and i have misplaced my wiring diagram, does anyone have a copy they could email me? cheers

ps was anyone able to fire up the ecu and connect it to a computer without it actually being installed in the car?

ok managed to get a copy, but its only for TJ and TH, im running a TF so its ECU is differnt pin outs.
can anyone tell me if a TH has the same colour pin outs as a TF, so i can wire this up?
or better yet who as installed a piggyback onto a TF?
(looks at BJ10S)

Another happy MT customer. Asked MT as yet? Hehe, don't get too impatient waiting for answer - he has your money already.
Color coding aside - if you have your car's wiring diagram and the equivalent of MT, just connect in that manner. BTW, I used D25 connectors so it's easy to revert to std ECU if ever required.

I've managed to figure out 90% of the wiring, only problem is, how to connect to a computer? I'm using a serial cable, and with the MT sitting on the table (not in the car) hooked up to a 12v powersupply, I can't get the program to become online with the MT,
anyone got any ideas?

Uncertain, but assuming it requires one or some of the actual sensor wires to be connected to car to get live data from there and "wake up".
Note, once you connect it to std ECU/car, save the initial maps (Fuel and Ign) as back ups. Trust me.... And after you have done some tuning, close MT app prior to switching off the donk. This way it saves the settings, otherwise you lose them.
When tuning, you can use the overall Trim option to get ideas where to do what. Proper cell tune is done by moving the green box to required cell and using Page Up and Down keys.
Do you have AFR Gauge or how are you planning to tune?

Why cheers for that, I havnt yet hooked it up to the car, as I didn't want to be hacking up my cars wiring just to have a ecu that I can't get to work, and end up with a non functioning car. I plan to take it to a tuner to get tuner to get a proper tune done, I was going to install the ecu myself to save costs, as one tuner wanted $1400 for installation and tune! I have since found a better one, and he has had a little experience with the MT on apricot rockets car, if I plug in the mt will I be able to limp the car over to the tuners?

Oh and I will add plug conectors to my mt and factory looms so I can go back to stock easily

Good stuff, better safe than...
It has no limp mode or anything such. It allows std ECU to function 100% normal after MT installation. The way MT works is, that is adds or reduces Fuel and Ign (or what ever) as a percentage. In other words, at any given cell, you add Fuel say 5%, it means it provides that 5% amount of more fuel than the std ECU Fuel map does (at that cell/tune point). Note tho - when doing Ign, adding means adding to current advance. Say, idle timing/advance is -10 deg or 10 BDTC, clicking 2 deg more means it will now be -12 or 12 deg BTDC. The plussing and minusing is obvious, once you play with it. I recommend you familiarize your self how it works to ensure Tuner does it ok and faster.

Cheers for that, I might give it ago Monday

you can have the pro sequential hooked up but zero all the numbers and it wont modify any signals, run as normal off the cars computer

It comes with 0 tune, but yee, perhaps good idea to ensure they really are 0. And don't forget a back-up map file as I mentioned before.

Good idea to check that the engine speed calibration is 3rpm NOT 2rpm. Did you check all the wiring we discussed?

all done, its been wired up and installed, i couldnt get it to connect with the serial connection, so ended up going USB-serial cable, filled the tank with 98. just need to take it to the tuners now (when he fixes his dam Dyno)
where did you guys put your MT unit? its a bit tight for space, as my car as 2 airbags, and abs brakes, so the control units have taken up spaces that i would have like to used.
its sitting under the passenger seat atm, it doesnt seam to generate much heat, so i may put it under the carpet under the seat with the usb cable poking out, and outof sight.
cheers for everyones help.

(now if only someone could get an iphone app to control the MT, saves using a laptop)

in rods car(apricot rocket) we put it ontop of the cars ecu/tcm under the dash next to the firewall.

oh ok, my car is manual, so its taken by the gear linkage cables as they run over the ECU. i think ill stick to under the seat.

There's a plastic shield thingo directly below the glovebox. A couple of push-in plug etc and it drops down. Mine sits under there and the MT serial plug rests in a barely visible location but hangs enough for me to reach to connect quickly - which happens all the time :doubt:

i thought about putting it there, wasnt sure if the MT was putting too much weight on it, and make it sag, ran out of time as i had to go to work, but ill check that out. cheers

The plastic is HEAPS stronger than it needs to be hold up the MT and some extra harness. FTW.
