Hi everyone.
doese anyone know whats a good v6 engine i can put in my
Magna 97 te.the engine i have now is a 4g64 16v 4 cyl (piece of crap).
Its manual.
What engine goes well with this car.
Hoping a 3.5L 6G74 SOHC 24 Valve V6 will fit.

The 6G72 and 74 will both bolt straight in.
You will need to replace the trans with the engine as the 4cyl trans has a different bell housing, you will also need engine harness, dash cluster (4cyl diff tach) etc etc.
To be honest, you are far better off getting a TH that is at an auction which you will get for a couple hundred, get all wiring from firewall back and all mechanical and change it all over. Job should take no more than 3 days and if you get one with cruise and abs, this is also a simple change over (read my rides thread)

easy as job man. Mine was a 4 cyl i converted to v6 manual. Unless you have the parts laying around and are mechanical minded. It would be cheaper just to buy another car.

Then as Rhino stated, sell what you have and get another car unless you can do it yourself

you should be able to pick up a half cut for less than that, (one without lights etc) also, if you can sell yours for 2500 or so, you then have 3500 to spend, you would pick up a tf or th v6 for around that price. maybe not manual, but you could do that latter.

If interested you should be able to find a donor car in Brisbane at http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/auctions/?ed_city=Melbourne&ed_search_category=Damaged&x=32&y=17

For a thousand bucks buying a smashed up car 3.0 or 3.5 would be the best option, finding a manual would be hard but they can be found.
You need to change the main wiring loom, computer, keys, door locks, immobiliser computer, accelerator cable, rewire the a/c wiring under the dash as it is a different wire to the v6 loom, change the speedo cluster as the tacho reads incorrectly as mal stated, regas a/c, swap the driveshafts, swap the cross member, the high pressure power steering rack hose is different too.
Also possibly the shifter cables, clutch master and slave cylinder they could be different to the 4 cyl as i said earlier mine was a 4 cyl auto.
The same amount of work is required whether you run a 3.0 or a 3.5. I ran a 3ltr with number 6 cams, gets flogged day in and day out and i get 600 - 650 out of a tank, mine is just a daily hack. However if i had a 3.5 laying around i would of put that in for the extra torque.

I like the evo engine the 4g63 but im on my p's.lol
I think i might juust leave my car stock because i get my full license in about 5 months.
I was thinking about getting a 1997 Toyota Chaser jzx100 or a evo 6.
