Well finally my 1000 yr old pioneer 12's have decided to move onto a new life...

I have the oportunity to purchase some new subs from the USA...

Can anyone suggest some good US brands, hoping to pick something quality up for a decent price... need 2 x 12's.

Thanks for your help :)

Pete

Do you really need 2? What about a single good quality sub?

I have a single 12W6V2 JL audio sub that has lasted me 5 years so far- with the right amp it would be just as loud as twins!

What about some good European brands?

Agreed with the single 12.

I guess we need to know:

Budget
Do you intend to keep existing box / how big is the box
What amp do you intend to run this with
Do you want something loud or decent sounding

Hmm, i dont know about US brands... Let me tell you - i have the 15" Clarion 750W RMS sub PXW1552 - Yes it is a 15, but i garenteee its as punchy as a 10! due to its high power and response, yet it can put out those deep rumbles onli a 15 is capable of. I have owned this sub for about 3-4yrs, have installed 3 of them for friends, and EVRYONE is happy. A close friend had 2 Pioneers 12" and upgraded to this 15, much clearer bass, and louder. I like the car seats quivering with minimal bass geting pumped in my ears...

IMO go to Soundmaster the sub retails for 399 but they sell it for 199. :) Box will cost you 80-100 thas 280 for the box + sub.

I know you agreed with single 12, but just go to a audio store and hear one of thse subs out with ROCK + DANCE + RNB and compare to any 12... you wil be VERY impressed !

reason for the 2 x 12's is my boot install.. this was from years ago same design amps are mounted behind now...

I've always been a fan of the old JL Audio subs...

Budget Value for money... Willing to pay the cost for decent subs though
Do you intend to keep existing box / how big is the box not sure on the size but its the spare wheel well
What amp do you intend to run this with Currently running a 800wrms monoblock but would upgrade amp if required
Do you want something loud or decent sounding best of both worls, I want pumping bass but good quality aswell.

Hmmm I proabably would have said the Vibe BlackAirII but that presents 2 issues:

They need about 1.5cuft sealed ea and I doubt you have more than 1cuft each
The Sub amp would be the Jaycar on the left so it makes it's power at 1ohm and these only come in DVC 2ohm ( he needs 2 of them ).

The Nakamichi SPW-1210 isw going around for under $400 these days, again they come in DVC 2ohm not sure about a DVC 4ohm version ( which you would need ). They work in a 1cuft box.

Other subs to consider:

Boston G2 DVC 4ohm RRP$399
Hertz ES300.3 4+4 DVC RRP$359
ID 12V.3 DVC 4ohm RRP$349

That is AU $RRP. Boston and ID are about are American you can get.

Not too concerned about price, just want value for money and love feelin 20hrtz I don't have an issue spending the $$ if I'm getting the quality out of it.
