the time has come for my up to this date completely stock TL to be converted to manual.

Being that I'm in Launceston Tasmania, I have a few questions on ho to go about this, namely regarding getting all the parts I need and recommendations on where to get the conversion done and rough costs.

Forgive me if I've put this in the wrong section.

Cheers, Quentin.

Hey there mate, if you check out the sponsors section on here you will find "Mits Fix" they can hook you up with every part you need for the conversion. As for who to do it in Tas, i think the Tas rep Mightymag has done or had someone do a conversion on his car so he should be able to help :)

Well yes im doing the conversion has taken me close to 2 years :roflwtf: Na joking i work 6 days aweek and now all i have to do is remove the auto and put in the manual. As for the TL you will need a TL box as there sum different PM madmagna he will explian more.

The TL manual box is the same as the Tj however there are large differences in the electronics.

You should look at bringing the car over here to get done, I have had people come from Sydney for the conversion so not much difference coming from Launceston

Presently I do not have any manual conversions left but that changes so quickly I may all of a sudden find myself with 10 of the buggers lol

Kit cost seems to vary between $750 and $1,100 - I guess depending on unit mileage, breaker profit margins etc.
Clutch is $600 - $700 for a standard Exedy (MadMagna's got a deal at the moment, about $100 off).
Fitting varies from Nil (DIY!) upwards. Best to find someone with experience if you're paying for it. Mines going into Mackenzie Motors in Sandgate (Brisbane) on Monday & with the sparkie looks like being $1,500. MadMagna will do it for a lot less, but he's in Victoria, so it's a long trip.
Then there's a few possible extra's like a leather gear knob & gear lever gaiter ($275 for Momo items for me), & oil (about $90 for decent synthetic stuff).

Hope that gives you some idea.
