depending where will influence cost, does it sound at the rear or the front or middle of the car?
i had a leak once right at the join of the cat converter. but again depends where you go, and where the leak is and what you replace it with. i replaced my rear muffler with a stainless x-force, fitted totalled to about $600

The leak is usually just below where the pipe enters the front of the muffler at the rear of the car. Est $125-175 typical replacement cost with a bolt-on muffler with pipe and flange from an exhaust shop.
