Has anybody done any research on a front conversion on a 380 from a Ralliart Galant

Looking at rchillmitsubishi.com the parts are not actually that expensive

Why the galant front looks like a DOGS breakfast

would be quite expensive to bring over bonnet, side panels, headlights, front bar, and the grille purchase cost without looking might be around 1500 looking at double that in postage id guess?
biggest problem is if q panels can be changed, as headlights are different.

I think the qtr is the same just the lights, bar and bonnet

but you would need to buy the side skirts and the chrome windscreen trim too

yeah the quarter panels are the same. the lights were about $500us, the front bar was about $150us, and th3 bonnet was about $180us. so its not that bad. $890au but postage would be decent $$. im asuming that the frame would be the same for all the parts to fit on because the 380 was made out of the same shell as the Galant.

I guess if you had some decent front end panel damage on a 380 and imported a wrecked (in the rear) Galant or 1/2 cut, then it could make an interesting and cost effective repair.
But other than that I'd think it would be an interesting but damn expensive and unjustifiable mod. :(

You'd be better off spending the dollars on a custom front grille and bar to make you're own one off.

*edit*
is it just me or can anyone else still see the TJ Magna bonnet & beak shape in that Galant?

i decided that im just gonna go the series 1 TMR front insert (red one), TMR front skirts, TMR side skirts, and TMR rear skirts. Should be less work than the Galant conversion.

from tmr its about $2k plus stuffing around fitting it(needs filing to fit perfect) then paint. so probs $3k all up.

You used CE Lancer pods front and rear for yours didn't you? How did they fit? Much bogging/sanding required?

Have a look in the 3rd gen magna forum, you will get more info out of there than in this forum.

Two replies but no answer I DID look in the Gen 3 forum hence the apology. As for the swap with a US Gallant onto a 380 great article in the original Wheels Magazine supplement about the difference between the two I doubt even if you could get the front guards bonnet and etc. that anything would line up given the Aussie design changes where substantial.

These guys don't list anything for the 380 on their site, but they may have some advice for your quest.

Only ones that will fit onto a 380(that i know off) without modding. They will look so good, i will relay the price back to this thread for anyone who is interested.

Hey Hey. Sorry i have a day off and im so bored so ive just been looking at things i can do to my car. and i got something. Since it is imposible to get the TMR bodykit ive been looking for front and rear lips from the CH Lancer VRX to customise to fit onto my 380.
http://www.carsales.com.au/Tig/UI/PagePopup.aspx?R=7986807&PhotoID=21112117&h_mid=4415219&f_mid=&c_mid=4414495&pid=140973&tabID=304736

if i get these front and rear lips genuine(not crap fibreglass), then they should be made from a reasonably workable plasctic that i would be able to cut and file them to make pods that would fit my car. Can anyone imagine it like i can. or even better!! Do a photo shop job.

they will also need to be cut and extended because the lancer is a skinner car.
try the series 3 380 front.

3rd gen G.E side skirts will fit with a bit of modding......im going to put a set of these on my GT,perhaps with silver highlights, dunno yet...will see how they look in black, then might just vinyl wrap the silver on....mmmm

You can see how good they look HERE (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=998494&postcount=139)
