Half way through a 3.5 conversion I've run into trouble with the injector wiring loom. I can't figure out how to include the crank angle sensor and power steering pressure switch.

The donor engine is from a KJ Verada, and I'm keeping the original TE auto box.

The old injector loom is like this:

[p/s switch-----crank sensor-----injectors-----large connector to main loom]

The loom inlcuded with the new engine...

[injectors---2 vaccuum things----large connector to main loom] without p/s switch and crank sensor.

Does anyone know if I can use the old loom and omit the vaccum devices? Or is there an easier way?

Cheers

you should be able to use the old te wiring loom.

Thanks mate, that's good to hear.

Any idea what the 2 vaccum devices above the front injectors are for? Losing them would simplify the throttle plumbing. Would I be missing out on anything performance/economy related?

I know exactly what your talking about, yeah use your old harness,
as far as the devices you are talking about, they are part of emmissions control,
the left solenoid valve is for the EGR function the one on the right is called a purge control valve they are solonoids that prevent escaping fuel vapors, or somthing to that nature, I can't remember the exact function. Perhaps so done else can clarify. both will not function after your conversion.

That's awesome, I was hoping someone would say I didn't need those.
