So i'm uming and arring about whether to get a quaife LSD while my manual box is being freshened up before the conversion. So i've been searching the forum for people's opinions on it's worth and came across a thread from 2005 that said you need the drivers side driveshaft from a manual if converting to manual with an LSD so is this still the case? it's just that my manual conversion kit only came with the passenger side driveshaft.
The other question i have for people that have added a quafie LSD how would you describe the difference in before and after grip in both the wet and dry?

you only need the manual one if you currently hve the 5 speed auto, then you only need the LHS and the intermediate shaft.
The kit came with a intermediate shaft, any 4sp auto or manual LHS shaft will fit the manual

I have had a Quaife LSD for quite a while now, from when my car was virtually stock till where I am with it now. I've made a fair few fairly extensive posts on the matter here, search if you are interested because I can't be bothered to re-hash myself again :)
In short: it's ****ing awesome, and IMO ESSENTIAL if you have any interest in tracking your car.

obviously it depends on how hard you're going to push the car... like Chisholm said, if you are ever going to track the car, put the LSD in.
I can't comment on before/after traction as I went from a 4sp auto open diff to manual with the Quaife.
the only thing I can think of that might be construed as a negative is the car likes to continue turning corners under hard acceleration. straight line stuff there's no torque steer, but if you're exiting a corner and put your foot down you have to wind off the steering as it will not come back to centre on it's own. like I said, not really a huge issue.
my opinion on the LSD vs 50" HD LCD would be get the LSD. but that's because I track my car and already have two HD TVs around that size :P
cheers,
