Hey, i have just ordered my new muffler... but i am a bit worried as i currently have a straight through with resonator removed, hi-flow cat and Pex rear muffler.
Now this sounds good on idle but from 2000rpm it sounds like a tin hairdryer with heaps of crackle, witch i do not like... plus if i give it some it sounds real ricey, i ant happy with it at all...
Will changing the muffler solve my problem? plus does anyone no where the crackle comes from ?

no changing the muffler wont really fix your problem, you need to put in a resinator (non fluted type ie. straight through)

I had the exact same problem!! Crackled like mad til around 2800rpm (Then sound sort of died)..... was pretty ricey... Anyway I got a big reso put on and it sounds much better (Although alot quieter..) Im actually thinking of getting a smaller reso put in...

Yeah defs need a resonator.
If you youtube Lukey + Magna the first hit is a guy with the same problem.
Pretty sure he was an AMC member, he just put in a fat reso.
