Hey guys... so I decided I'd do an amateur boot install, just for kicks and see how it went. Seeing as how i had money and time over christmas, so here it is.

Before I started My boot looked like this:
Origional Install (http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx145/Hitman2015/100_2117.jpg)
(this was from my old car, but looked the same in the new one)

the Resources I used were:
Alpine MRP-M500 this one (http://www.testfreaks.com/car-amplifiers/alpine-mrp-m500/)
Pioneer TS SW3001S4 This one (http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZF4q1nrYFUa/p_130TSS3001/Pioneer-TS-SW3001S4.html) x2
900x600x12mm MDF x2
1200x450x12mm MDF x2
1200x450x9mm x2
2000mm x 2000mm Automotive Carpet black
Tonnes of Contact Adhevsive
Loads of Sellys No Gaps
Uncountable wood screws and a handful tech screws
Hinges x4
L Brackets x 4

My intention was to build a sub box at the back and have to amps on either wall while taking up as lil space as possible and still having full and simple access to the spare wheel (no removing of the subs)

In the following posts I will cover each day:

Day one: So on day one I began by removing the old Polk sub and the Earthquake amp and the exsisting floor. A fresh start is always inspiring, so in the beginning it looked like this:

Fresh start (http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx145/Hitman2015/100_2117.jpg)

From their i began constructing the floor. I decided in earlier planning, to create a floor with a split fold opening in the floor for the spare. To do this i place the 2 9mm 1200 boards side by side, essentially making a 900mm wide bored. I then proceded to cut down the lenght of the boards and mold the sides to fit the wheel arches as well as cut out two inserts to create my doors. By the end of day one i had the floor carpeted and all this done.

Day two: The next day i returned to my lil project which was just an evening, so a short day. I built the right hand side wall and hooked up my 4 channel Alpine amp (the only piece of my old install to roll over). So that by the next day i at least could have tunes running through my speakers, Else that would suck :(. To do this i took one of my 900x600x12mm boards and custom cut a panel used a circular saw to drill out some hole for the wires, carpeted the whole thing, cut some incisions over the holes and bolted up the amp, then fed the wires.
I also carpeted the doors and cut myself a door handle, which was harder to do than i initially thought it would be.

Day Three: A day of rest lol aka working all day

Day Four: For those Melbourne-nites playing at home, was the recent Monday in January of 40degrees and i began the day by manually unloading a 40ft container at work. Good start... well this motivated me (or maybe it was all the Gatordade...) anyway, but i jumped on the oppurtunity to begin the hardest part of my boot install... the Sub box.

I had imported myself a set of Pioneer IB flat slimline 12inchs, (1500w max), the purpose of the slimline will become evident if i ever get a spare, and after listening to Shayne's system a long while ago, the pioneer flats seemed just as good as my polk, so 2 would be even better lol.

The box I would embark on building would be a Trapezium over a rectangle shape (cbf doing a drawing see box pics) and the dimensions were some what close too, 22cm deep, 90cm wide and 32inch high with a 41inch high front face. (you do the math) For a sub box thats small by any measure.

The resources I used for this, were heaps of screws and tonnes of sellys... WHY? To seal that box up nice, no air holes, not porting this bad boy, i want it punchy!!! Went nuts on the my bro and I got covered in it. Also this involved pretty much all my 12mm boards, except for one 900x600 which was for the two amp walls.

This is the general shape of the box

The box with face attached and holes cut... no that is not a port in the side... you'll see

Face Carpeted
Progress shot 4 (http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx145/Hitman2015/DSC00299.jpg)
See not a port lol

Cutting the holes... EVERY MAN in this country should own a Leatherman, greatest multi-tool (thats what she said) of all time hahahahaha. Seriously made light work of that automotive carpet.

Subs getting a test fit into the boot... snug :)
And by this time it was becoming evening... the last stage was to build my left wall and attach my Monoblock amp like this (http://i750.photobucket.com/albums/xx145/Hitman2015/DSC00316.jpg), then hey presto! DONE!
