I have very dull dash lights on my AWD KJ Verada just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with them and if there is a fix? They are fine at night but their brightness doesn't change during the day when I turn the parkers on seem to stay just the same, where as the climate control light dims when the parkers go on. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Under the bottom of the dash cluster, just below the tacho, there is a brightness indicator dial.

If you turn it all the way to the right, and then push it again, you will go past a detente which makes the dash cluster go into full brightness position.

Just try and see if it works.

If the above doesn't work read on. Next to the ODO/TRIP button there is button labeled with a light bulb icon. Pressing this button alternates between 2 preset brightness levels. Check what preset level yours is set to. You can see the button i'm referring to in this pic:

I am referring to the button with the globe symbol (above the TCL button). The dial to the left of the TCL button has a gauge symbol below it.

AWD's don't have this button only the brightness control below the Tacho.

I always thought the same thing. My lights are so dull. During the day you can't even tell they're on.

Have you had a h/u installed recently? Normally if the illumination wire is connected you can not change the brightness of the dials

I agree with this, sometimes when you're facing the sun they're hard to see

I have a KL 2WD, and I don't have the brightness control knob either...

It must have been a pre KL thingm like the parker indicator which was available in the KJ (just have to fit leds from memory) but is gone in the KL+

No the car is completely stock, was looking at the display for the Auto Temp Control and noticed another thread about changing the globes in these just wondering if the Verada dash really does have leds?

Yeah, LED's in there, same as TJ2 AWD. No easy globe swap over for you.......

Yeah fairly sure they have LED's.
Dont seem to be able to access them.
Yeah my KJ AWD doesnt have a brighness adjuster for daytime running.
May sound very stupid but i have seen stranger things before. Try disconnecting your battery and re-connecting it. Sounds weird but possibly may work.

I had the chime sound that comes on when you leave your headlights on, comming on randomly and continously in my KH during the day without touching the headlights.

Disconnect and reconnect battery and problem solved. Weird i know but it worked.

The weirdest thing,I just got my KJ back from Mitsu and the lights in the dash did not work either,only noticed driving into the sun the other day and could not even see what speed I was doing..Had another look today when this thread reminded me and they still were not working..Had a funny idea to check fuses and took the dashboard fuse out to check ..When I put it back in and turned the key on it worked just fine..All red LED and white back lights are fine...Buggered if I know but away we go now..

Sorry for the thread trawl but finally fixed the problem, fitted a brand new Ralliart Dash fits straight in to the KJ Radda AWD. Can see clearly now also debadged the Verada badge and stuck on a new old stock Ralliart Magna badge. Really confuses people especially when they look in the car and see the dash.
