Ok cai, idea - to provide cooler air to the engine than would otherwise be provided by the stock intake. Problem - to me the air intake in the magna seems to me to provide air from outside the engine bay anyway, when the first outer seal is removed or modified at least. The air intake is sucking air from out in front of the engine bay from directly under the lip of the bonnet. So why exactly would a cai be more effective than this? It's already sucking in air that hasn't been affected by the car at all except for the lip of the bonnet, so why would sucking air from somewhere lower down closer to the road hence more likely than not a few degrees hotter be advantageous?
Also traveling at 100k the cai would be sucking static air in, relying on the lower pressure in the intake o suck air in, whereas the stock intake would have air rushing into it at speed (probably less than 100k due to interferance, but still fairly quick) and this would increase the dynamic pressure inside the intake thus having denser air.
Seems to me the stock is better in all points, denser cooler CLEANER air going into your engine... So why are cai still popular? Just for the sound?
