Hey guys, i know this is a fairly 'noob' question and the fact i don't already know the answer after my years and years of hot 4's magazines and other bits and pieces is quite embaressing, but when lowering a car, like my TF Magna, using something like King Springs, do the shocks need to be changed, altered or replaced in any way? Im asking on behalf of my brother too who has a TF Solara with chrome 17" wheels but it looks kinda stupid having nice wheels and not lowered at all (in fact, with the new wheels, it looks raised, but it shouldn't since the overall diameter of the wheel/tyre shouldn't have changed).

You don't have to replace shocks. It takes just as much labour to change both springs and shocks though, so if your shocks are due for replacement (which, on a TF, they probably will be), you may as well get them done at the same time. KYBs and Boges are common recommendations here. You should get improved ride/handling with these better quality shocks too.

Thanks for that mate. I appreciate the help i'll get here. My brother is already ahead of me doing up his TF Solara, custom interior trim and roof lining, $4000 stereo, chrome wheels and such. So i'll be asking questions on his behalf too. Might even get him to join.
