Hi Guys,
Im picking up a parts car on the weekend and i wish to use the engine to swap into my tp.
thing is the donor car is a carby and mine is efi & was wondering if there is any differences in the engines apart from the intake & exhaust manifolds.
Cheers Brendan

the 2.6 engine is used in the TP model
for both carby and EFI
the heads ,cams and tappets
and bottom end is the same
if both are auto you dont have to swap the drive plate
advice :
while changing motors you should inspect
the timing chains and guides if the motor has done around 200,000 ks
replace the rear engine seal and front drive belt pully seal
if needed
replace all the welch plugs front and back with brass ones

what ever you do dont but seals from Mitsubishi. they wanted $47 for timing cover / crank pully and $78 for rear main. bursons charged $4 for timing cover and $8 for rear main. although they are not genuine the block reckons Mitsubishi order them from bursons anyway. for that price your mad not to do them. these were the prices a month ago so wont have changed and best of all unlike Mitsubishi they were in stock.
