Hey everyone, can anyone confirm that the diff on the right is out of a 4cyl 3rd gen magna.
The diff on the left is from my 6g72 manual gearbox.
The V6 diff (left in first pic) is 8.3 kgs, and the other diff (unknow origin) is only 6.3 kgs.
It looks MUCH MUCH weaker than my original diff
the crown wheels are basically the same size (teeth wise), but the replacement on the right, is about 12mm thinner.
The guy i got it off (an automatic shop owner swears black and blue that he only strips V6 boxes, and this is out of a TE V6.)
the other noticeable points are that:
- the speed censor gear is pink, removable and nylon.
- the spider gears are not the same axel size on the original diff gears, they are actually slightly bigger than my v6 axels.
- it is about 15mm taller, bearing to bearing

I am guessing its out of a 4cyl TE manual. Due to it having comparable crown wheel (teeth wise)

is there a difference between the auto and manual diffs mabey?

just the number of teeth on the crown wheel.
I HIGHLY DOUBT that they would use a diff that is that much lighter for the same engine that is auto instead of manual as well.

Take the pos back, say a mechanic told you they arent compatible or some other bs.

he is conviced he just pulled it out of a 6cyl though (or he is lying to cover his ar se because i had to drive 65 k's to get it.) I will point out that the car he got it from only has 4 spark plugs, and go from there lol.

I would still love someone to confirm its not from a V6 though

I just walked up the back and took the photo's about 5 minutes ago (you should feel special)
