Hey guys,
Ive got a 96 TE Exec which Ive bought some more equipment for - sub/amp/new rears.
We tried to install yesterday but got nowhere quickly because we couldnt find a way through the firewall. I had a look on here for some info/pics but none of it seemed overly helpful to my car. Maybe I was doing something wrong, I dont know.
Ive got a kicker 4-guage wiring kit I need to get through.
Has anyone with this car or similar enough that it would have the same holes be able to show me any pictures of what/how they did it?
I want to avoid drilling if at all possible - much rather use a grommet thats already there.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Iain

If it's an auto, there's a grommet near the pedals - it's where something for the clutch runs if you had a manual. I'm currently running 4 gauge through it fine. I'm actually going to replace it with 2 gauge (hopefully later today), so I can take a photo for you while I'm out there if you'd like.

there's also a gromit near the right hand strut tower (passenger side) which feeds in thought the guard

Most people do as Perry said, However it can leak water into your footwell, I made a hole in the gromit just large enough for the wire to fit snugly, then a hit of silicon to seal it, taking the wheel off will give you some room to work

yep.....jack car up .remove wheel and take off splash sheild.....you will find a gromett near the guard/door a pillar...it is a small one above the large one.....similar one inside after removing carpet and panel...perfect...no drilling....after removing the splash guard you will clearly see where the wiress run into the engine bay and come out near the battery...

on inside of car, once u pull carpet up after unscrewing the 1 screw you will see the gromet against the wall of the car on passenger side.. hope this makes sense..

I think I saw that one - is it above the air con control unit? I think that's what that black box was

the gromet? not sure where air con unit is.. if u take wheel arch covers off u will see it straight away and have an idea where it is on the inside of car.

no..when you are arse up with your head in the footwell and you have removed the scuff plate and taken out the screw to remove the carpet look at the left side of the pillar and you will see the gromet, its a bit bigger than a 50 cent piece and the cooresponding one you will see when you pull the splash sheild off

Here's a photo of where mine runs. I ran 2 gauge through it fine today.

i put mine through the large rubber grommet where the ecu wires go through to get to the battery.
pull the carpet back on the passenger side and there should be a white piece of plastic that looks like a cup for your nads.
take that off and there will be the ecu with its wires going through the fire wall.
get a coat hanger and straighten it out.
tape the wire onto the end of the coat hanger and push it through this rubber it should get all the way into the engine bay
