Hi all, I've bought some GE flares but they don't have the fitting kits, Mitsubishi said they can't get the kits anymore.
Would someone mine posting some photo's of how these attach so I can look at rigging something up?
Otherwise I've just wasted a ton of money buying stuff I can't use.
Thanks...

if you like, I could scan the fitting instructions and email them to you?? got the fitting kits sitting in the garage waiting for my flares to get painted.

I used black sikaflex when I put a VR4 kit on a Galant GSR....
Just watch out for excess- that stuff is HARD to get off your paint!

Wont work witht the GE kit as there is a large gap under the flare.
PM me mate, may be able to assist you as have some bits off my spare GE kit here
BTW, some of these bits are still avail if the parts people CBF looking them up and know which car to look at lol
They don't have kits, but they do have individual clips. Ask for all the clips at a dealer (give them a TJ Sportswagon VIN) - It cost me about $25 for the full set of clips (for all 4 flares).

Hi. I need the VIN No. of your car and I will try to sort that parts after I received the VIN No. of your car. Thank you

HI, VIN is 6MMTF6U42VT000665
The kits weren't an option for a TF, I think they only came out from TJ but they will still fit a TF.

Hi. I had tried to sorted your parts inquiries bur apparently there is no available side skirt on that particular model..Mitsubishi sell only air dam for both side. You can try to ask accesories store or shop, maybe they can help you about your side skirt parts. Thank you
I'm pretty sure I told the guy you won't find them for that model..
I need to find someone with a TJ to get the VIN I suppose..
It was a lot easier before they started asking for your VIN..

if you need a TJ VIN, try 6MMTJ8A423T063691. that might not help though, as it had no body kit.
Check carsales, ebay, etc... find a TJ Sportswagon VIN. Thats the best way for them to find the clips.

Then, but no parts available

I'll try mitsubishi again.. I've sent them pictures from the workshop manual with the VRX flare clips circled and a picture of the stuff that came with one of the skirts (has pics of the bolts, clips, etc) I also sent them all the part numbers (which I did previously) hopefully they get it right this time...

Mte, PM vrx_my02 for the vin on his Sports Wagon wreck, this will get you the correct car
The above parts are not correct, they only have clips on the flares with a single screw at each end, the sides have have a bracket each end with a bold and screw holding it to the body and skirt, under is quite crap, use a "C" shaped clip.

I've ordered the clips for VRX flares, hopefully these are suitable..
Out of the 3 Mits I've rung they all say the parts for GE are obsolete and can't get them..

Ok, clips for flares (VRX clips) on the way for $55, after looking through the Mitsubishi ASA software myself I think I may have missed 6 clips and 2 grommets (4 x 63623E, 2 x 63623C 2 x 71973B ) but they have heaps thankfully..

The Mitsubishi that finally spent a few minutes looking said they have had a full GE kit upstairs for over a year waiting for a suitable car to fit it to.. spewing I didn't know this sooner, but oh well..
I cannot find a mounting kit for the skirts, they're obsolete :( if anyone could help with the clips pictured I'd be very appreciative.. (not that appreciative ;p)

Do the VR-X flares use the same mounting brackets as the GE flares?
If not, hope you enjoy customisation... haha

The clips are the same apparently, brackets may be different, I'm about to find out haha..

Yeah, they told me they were the same for Ralliart flares too... lol
Ended up cracking the shits and binning the lot, and just made the fitting stuff from scratch.

Larger clips are 63626C. The smaller is either 63623E or F. I got them off a wreck.
61809 and 69562 share the same part number and cost $15 each, they are the flare rubbers.
They were the only clips I could get off the wreck. Either I'll make some up to match at work if I can find some galvanized steel or take them up to nearby sheet metal place to have some made up. If cheap enough to get made up I can send u down one of each..

Just curious, how many of the long clips were there per flare?
I've ordered one for each of the front flares as per the ASA picture, but when I click on the parts the software adds four which would suggest there's two per front flare, which makes sense..
It also added 8 of the smaller clips, so there must be two per flare.. Or, one on each front and two on each back..
As I said, this is all I could pull off the wrecked VR-X. I know there are more parts to it. I am going from that picture of the assembly you posted eariler (I have a copy of that too). Where it screws in - it uses the screws from the mud flaps, so you shouldn't need them. I'm hoping to have my car back on Friday, then I can see what clips I need and let you know.
EDIT: The rubbers are 1200mm in length too. Aren't the GE flares a bit longer than the VR-X ones?

From memory without looking at my car, the fronts have 2 of the long clips on each side, they use the screw from the under guard lining to hold in, then there are 3 of the funny bent ones, the rear end of the front flare uses one of the mud flap screws, the front of the front flare uses the clip that hooks into the bumper with a screw through the flare
The rear flares use 5 of the clips that clip into the flare and onto the rear guard and 2 of the ones that screw into the flare and clip into the rear guard and bumper.

Thanks Mal, I'll take the flares with me when I pick up the clips..
Give me a yell if you have issues with the software but you should be right.
If not, I can do a remote desktop session and check it out..
I've already spent about 2 hours on it so another 30 minutes won't hurt lol

Well, I've finished painting my flares and side skirts, I went to a spray paint supplier and got the paint mixed.
I ended up using 6.5 cans to paint skirts, door trims and flares..
Sanded flares back to base (were painted)
prepsoled
about 5 coats of base paint (HH)
5 coats of clear.
Side skirts were unpainted so I prepsoled, primed, only needed about 4 base coasts then did 5 clears.. (ended up with a stow away bug on the last coat (will sand him off with 2000g)
I haven't buffed or sanded these and they are smooth and shinny as, will buff once on the car though.
I have 90% of the flare clips, waiting on a few more that I missed then will fit those, I still need to figure something out for mounting one of the skirts.. hmm, off to the local fastener supplier for those..

Hmm, I don't get it, on comparison, the skirts and flares appear darker than the door strips..
Maybe it's because I managed to get a much better finish on the clear coats after hours of practice?
Just fitted the flares on my car, and had to do a few trips back to Missubishi because I was missing some parts. All up I used the following parts below for a really sturdy fit using all the available holes on the VRX flares.
63623B x 4
63623C x 4
63623D x 2
63623E x 8
63623F x 2
And 6 x 71977B (screws) if you dont have any that fit.

Cheers, I have all those clips now, i too had to make two trips, just working on the screws, going to fastener place today, it's really hard to find screws that width and 5mm short..
They can be longer. I got mine from auto barn.

Just some info for anyone looking for GE side skirt clips.
I had to make the end brackets out of some metal I had.. weren't perfect but did the job.
The hammer on clips that attach the skirt under the car can be ordered through Ford, they aren't identical but work exactly the same, $3.50 each, they are from an AU falcon for putting on the side skirts !!
