does anyone know what the actual spring rates are of the Ralliart/vr-x front springs?
I've searched and can't find any real answers (both here and google).
cheers,

It's only the front spring rate, but try this (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=898363&postcount=4).

This (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60264) is as far as I got to when I was doing some research on the matter.
It's incomplete, but it's a start.....
Alternatively, contact Toperformance (http://www.toperformance.com.au/index2.html) in Melbourne. They did the Koni set-up for the Ralliart & should be able to fill you in on the whole set-up. (Ralliart springs anyway.)
EDIT: Beat me to it...damnit!!

how did I miss that in my search...?
hrrmm, I've calculated the KCRL-39s (wagon rears) I just picked up to be around 250lb/" but they're progressive. I hope the Ralliart fronts I have aren't 140lb/". I reckon they'll be fairly outmatched by 250lb/" rears.

Those wagon springs, according to King's, will be nowhere near 250lb springs.
I'm not saying they're not, but King's don't reckon they are, nor sell them as such.

maybe the calculations don't work for progressive springs... I used 12mm (0.6") wire diameter, 7 coils and 120mm (4.8") centre to centre coil diameter. worked out to 251lb/".
could be way off... (and probably is). what do Kings say they are?

About the 175- 190lb rate.
I wouldn't be matching the Kings with the Ralliart springs myself, unless you're after the 'rear end dumped' look? 45mm drop compared to 15mm?
the progessive spring plays a lot into the equation of spring resistance or so my suspension guy said ages back when i had the kings fitted. But i am sure i dont need to explain the benefits to you wook :-)

This Autospeed article (http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Choosing-and-Installing-Lowered-Springs/A_111167/article.html) suggests that the fronts would be close to 166lb/in and the rears close to 140lb/in.
If you're still keen on searching, you could ask a suspension manufacturer for technical specifications.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Selbys, Kings & K-Mac out there have a book (or books) of factory spring rates on all cars so that they can then make uprated versions.

the rears are only 30mm drop (at least that was what they were advertised as). they're actually sold as Selbys CCRL39, but made by Kings and supposed to be the same as the KCRL-39. I can't find a measurement on Kings site as to how low they'll be, but I thought lows were ~30mm while superlows were 45mm?
can always compress the Ralliart springs to make it lower. :D
sp's are 30mm, lows are 45mm and super lows are like 60mm

even the wagon ones? everything I've seen says the wagon lows are 30mm drop.

They're 45mm drop, to suit the front.
There's no SP, (30mm drop) spring available for the wagon rear, unfortunately. The wagon could do with it as it's very easy to bottom out in the rear with the lows, especially if you've got LPG, like me!
