Hey Guys,

So completly out of the blue, my TH Magna (2000 build) starts making a noise of a belt slipping when I was turning into my drive way last night, stearing is also jittery so I thought something was up.

Had a look at the belt for the power stearing and its definetly on its way out. I had a couple of looks at it and it seems like its only the power stearing pump on that belt along with a tensioner. But what I can't figure out is that I got the acessories belt changed recenly, I would have thought power stearing would have been on the same belt as the accessories belt...?

Also, anyone know how much I would be up for to get this replaced?

Thanks,

Daveo

Take the power steering belt off and check for cracks. Replace it if need be, put it back on if it is OK. Low speed turning puts a great deal of pressure on the pump, and then it will slip. It is not unusual for a new belt to stretch and slip, and then it needs tightening. The other belt runs the air and alternator, that is probably the one that got changed.
