Just wondering if anyone can give me a price for some tyres I have my eyes on for the maggie.
They're the 'Yokohama ADVAN Sport V103'. Can't seem to find an RRP online. I want them for my 17" VR-X rims.
I really don't want to spend more than $200 - $250 per tyre (AUSD) but if they're really worth it I might consider going more.

I've always had maxxis on my 17" rims, there on my other half car now. There about $140 each, very grippy and long lasting

If you can afford Pirelli's I'd get them. Not sure what Maxxis' tyres were on type40's car but DAYUM they have some excellent road holding ability for the $$$. Defiantly a +1 from me for maxxix in terms of grip. But as mentioned, Pirelli's would be even better.

I've had Pirelli's on the TS Wagon.
If I could afford them I'd buy them again but I'd also look into what other tyres are around for the same price.
My only issue with the Pirelli's was that once they got a small amount of uneven wear, they wore down very quickly, even though the cause of the uneven wear had been fixed.
P.S. Has anyone actually answered the OP's original question...
--->>> Price of 17" Yokohama ADVAN Sport V103's
To the OP, give a couple of tyre places a visit/call and shop around within your own area.
Looks like Bob Jane and many others should be able to get them for you... http://www.yokohama.com.au/dealerlocator/index.aspx

It turns out they're about $380, WAY out of my price range. As for Maxxis and Pirelli, any particular tyre models of those brands?

Try Hankook V8RS. I have them on my VRX now.. they are about $230ea. It has High Grip silica compound. very grippy wet or dry.
The other would be Falken. Also about $200 ea (about a year ago when i enquired)
Maxxis may be grippy and cheap, but you may not be happy with the road noise they make. Depending on what you want really.

If you havent got tyres yet, BJ have
Yoko A.Drive R1's on special for $229 each on the 235/45R17 97W
or
Falken ZE912's same size for the same price but only 94W which is still fine.

I'm running Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001's on my 16's and find them excellent in wet & dry, about 235 a corner.

Either of you had the ER300's? They kinda put me off B'stone, if these adrenalins are any good ill have a look.
Looking at the tread it's identical to the Falken's

the tyre factory was selling sumitomos when i went for the RE0001's
for a street driven car the pirelli's were great. By street driven i mean you drive it from a to b like every other person on the road. No complaints about them, quiet, lasted a long time, good in the wet and the dry. Got them from Bob Jane on special a few years back. Would definately recommend them (although not on my car, not grippy enough, thats due to the power though)

Looks like if I want the Sumi's I'll have to come to melb, annyoying to think the size Bendigo is, you can get them.
So many differing opinions as to whether you can run 235/4517's on a 17x7" rim legally, safely and without stuffing up the speedo much going from 225/5017s
I believe GTV rims are 17x7 anyway.

I got Pirelli Dragon 235/45/17 fitted on the TL for $184 each by The Tyre Factory (Bayswater) in 08. They are reasonable... but nothing special... but i could be asking to much... dunno... they did alright on the GOR drive...

Dunlop Sport MAXX 235/45/17.
Around $220 each if you shop around.
Have the correct load rating.
Stick like the proverbial to a blanket.
Comes a close second to the outstanding Goodyear, which is a bucket more expensive.
Bit noisy, but if you want grip, I cannot recommend too highly.
Now on my second set on an AWD.
Have optimised the suspension geometry and really work very well.
In Sydney try AGR Tyres - Ramy Gidela on 9743 7800. Tell him that Gerry from Fidax recommended that you talk to him.
They are in Sefton opposite the railway line.

If the Dunlop's are anything like the old SP Sport 9000's then I rate them VERY highly!!
FYI, The Eagle F1's in 235/45 17 trim are about 210 a corner at the moment
