Hi all,

My car has no power at all, nothing lights up ie keyless entry and wont start. I was wiring up a reverse camera to my rear lamps, so I spliced the wires (+ and ground) to give power to the camera. I wired everything to the h/u. Turn on the h/u and everything was fine until I tried to start my car to get my car into reverse gear. The starter motor gave out 1 sound and then everything went dead. I think I've blower a fuse but I've checked all of the fuses in the engine bay visually and I don't see any blown fuses. I've checked the circuit diagrams the only fuses that I could see that could trigger a blackout is the 120A fuse (fusible link 23 in the manual), but it doesn't seem to be blown and I cant physically get it out to inspect with a multimeter.

Could someone tell me if I'm on the right track or is there a more serious problem?

To remove the fuse, there are 10mm bolts that hold it in from under the box, they are a prick to get to

Silly question, have yo checked your battery voltage, have seen people drain weak batteries many times

Haha, lucky I had sense not to go all out to pull the damn thing. But visually it doesn't seem blown...

Yeah I've checked my battery, at a healthy 12.45 volts. I didn't really think it was the battery as with a weak battery the lights on the dash should still show and I never got the battery warning light. I think there many be a short in the system, ie when I spliced the wires of rear lamp, but it also is a bit weird as I didn't get no short when the engine was off.

Problem solved, it was my +ve and -ve wires for the reverse camera that was the problem. It was too thin and might have shorted the circuit, but it didn't blow any fuses. So once I replaced the wire everything came back on line. Thanks for your help MadMagna. I actually did undo one of the two bolts you mentioned but the other one was just too much trouble with not enough room.
