I have a TL ES sedan and just want to sharpen the handling slightly with an upgraded rear swaybar... but Whiteline/Pedders etc only list 3rd Gen parts up to TJ (96-04).

yes as long as you get the correct bar. I think most TL/TW have a rear bar fitted already so you get the upgrade bar for existing fitment. Earlier TE-TJ only had rear sway bars fitted on the Sports or VR/VRX models I think and you need to either use the bars designed for non original fitment or fit the rear chassis components off a model that did have them factory fitted. Plenty of threads and there was an 22mm upgrade one for existing fitment on eBay that closedf unsold yesterday for $100. It has ended listing twice w/o a bid so might be listed even cheaper next time

I also saw that one on ebay... supposedly is a straight fit to existing hardware. I just thought it was weird that Whiteline don't list anything for Magnas beyond TJ.

All TL/TWs have factory swaybars.

No they are just old listings that suggest they only fit up to TJ. All of the 3rd series bars from TE-TW are the same - just need to specify whether they are original fitment or non original fitment or AWD rear vs FWD vs wagon rear.

Selby's who used to make the original Whiteline bars are back in production under their own name and will even make custom diameter sizes which can be ordered directly or through Online Performance Autos <sales@onautos.com.au>
