Hmmm
Well today I removed the factory GPS system from my GTV. Did it all nice and neat, didnt break anything or lose any screws etc.

But when I started the car.... problems.
I have no interior lights, no clock(there is a faint light but no time), no central locking(remote or key) and finally my trip computer loses its settings everytime I turn the ignition on(asks if its sedan/wagon and 3.0/3.5ltr, the speedo and tacho dials also wind right around and then return as if youve disconnected the neg battery terminal).
It also turned over for a good 5 secs before startin, which it normally fires instantly.

I have checked all the fuses under the dash and in the engine bay... All appear fine.
Any suggestions or things I should check?

Yeah, its one of the fuses in the yellow square in Fusebox under the hood.

When you removed the loom that goes to the GPS computer, did you plug the cluster loom back in to the ECU loom behind the ash tray?

The yellow box with the red and blue fuse in it? HTF do you get that out???
It looked ok(only from looking on the outside), I always seem to destroy them when I try and remove it.

Yeah I did, I think you mean the one which has two big white plugs and lots of green wires? Also has a purple, black, blue, yellow wire which runs to the GPS unit?

That is the fuse you must look at, its the blue one from memory. Even if it looks ok, replace it anyway or if you can be bothered do a test with a multimeter on it.
To remove just pull on it with a pair of tweezers, the yellow cradle should come up with it.

Pull the whole Yellow "Cradle"/Surround upwards - can be quite stiff.

It will 'click' up only a few millimetres, but the two fuses within will be easily removed when it has been raised.

Replace the fuse as necessary and then press the Yellow surround back down to re-engage the fuses in their slots.

Cheers all, yes now I know how to get that fuse out, it was blown.

Stupid me didnt obey the one rule, disconnect the neg terminal when doing any work.
My bad.

Thanks guys.
