My lancer has 215/45/18 on 7" rims.

From Redbook

Wheels
diameter( mm) 215/45 R18 89W
Rim Description 18x7.0

Edit: if you go a 235/45/18 its bugger all difference in your speedo reading. (0.8%, so your speedo will show faster than you are going)

to get as close as possible you would need to go for a 235/45/18

Just checking, are we talking 17, or 18" rims. Do you want the same rolling diameter as the 17" in an 18"? Would be 235/45/18

If you want a size bigger, 245/40/18.

incorrect, a 225/45/18 would be smaller circumfrence than a 215/5517

thanks for that.....that has answered my original question...what would be the size tyre that you can put on an 18' x 7" rim to suit a 380 and ,as close as possible, keep the same rolling diameter.

At least i know what size to ask and look for...reason being i have bought THESE (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170443487512) for my 380.
thanks again.

np :)

Perhaps check with a tyre shop before buying tyres though, im unsure as to whether or not you can put 245 wide on a 7" rim

nice wheels btw :)

yeah ,thanks keith, considering a 235 is about the limit on a 7" x 17" TW VRX rim, which i have on my magna,245 may be a tad wide, still 235 will be a nice step up from the 215's..............and dpd lol...........

225/45/18 would be a better choice for the 7" rim, IMHO. Not too much out & still within the 15mm of the OD of the original.

Also, you'll have more choices of tyres than if you go for the 235/45/18 tyre. Kumho KU31s is all I could find to fit within my budget.

Mike,

Try this site for comparing tyre sizes:

http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp?

You can play around with all sorts of wheel & tyre combos and it gives you heaps of details.

To figure out which combo is closest to your current set up for speedo accuracy, look at the circumference figure.

For your current 215/55R17 the circumference is 2098mm.

Nearest fit in an 18" tyre is as FFEEkY says 235/45R18, at 2101mm. A bees dick difference. And at 45 profile they will be reasonably comfortable, compared with say 35 profile.

As for tyres, you should consider the Maxxis MA-Z1, although I'm not sure they make them in 235/45R18.

If not, then I agree with Ascall that the Kumho KU31 is worth looking at.
