So for about 2 months now I been having this very odd intermittent problem with my alarm and unlocking the doors. For example if I press "Unlock" on my remote my car will unlock and lock again immediately on it's own. Or, if I'm able to unlock and get in my car without a problem then I'll have an issue where when I unlock the doors for the passengers it'll lock them again immediately. I have to manually open the doors for my passengers. If this is any help, it all started one day when my alarm went off on it's own a good 10 times. Another note, I have been noticing some condensation getting into my rear brake light above the back window, don't know if that could be the cause of it. What in the world could this be?

Try resetting the immobiliser ... the guide is in your handbook.

To program the remote control
A maximum of 4 remotes can be programed at any one time.
When programming an additional or replacement remote, all previosly programmed remote control switches will be erased and therefore will not operate the door lock. These must be reprogrammed at the same time.

1. Enter programming mode by unlocking the vehicle, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" then "OFF" positions 3 times within 5 seconds, finishing in the "ON" position.
The vehicle is now in programming mode
2. Within 5 seconds operate the button on the new/ existing remote control switch.
The turn signal lights will flash to indicate that the remote control switch has been programed
3. Within 5 seconds of the operating the button of the remote control switch just programmed, operate the button on the next remote control switch. The turn signals lights will flash to indicate that the remote control switch has been programmed.

Note:Should u fail to operate the button within 5 seconds, the vehicle will exit programming mode. Programming mode must therfore be re-entered and any previously programmed remote control switches must be re-programmed.

Is it the factory system or have you had an aftermarket alarm fitted?

It is a factory alarm. It will relock itself for good until I unlock again. I don't think it;s the remote because it happens once I'm in the car already trying to unlock the doors through the master door switches.

Have you checked the door handles for wear and tear etc. I know for a fact that the doors will immediately lock when you try unlocking and pulling the door handle at the same time so perhaps you door handles are in a slightly ajar state or a faulty ground tricking the system to behave the same.

Drivers door actuator is a common issue, you unlock but it will relock due to much internally. i have never tried to rip one apart to repair but given your location you may find it hard to get another one

There are microswitches internally and these maybe the cause, I know that both second and third gens here suffer from the same thing

does it activate the alarm? or just relock the doors?

i think madmagna is on the money, the actuators can wear and "bounce" back onto the microswicth relocking the doors again.
look for excessive movement in the locking and actuator mechanisms.

It activates the alarm if the car is not on. If it's on it just locks everything. Thanks Madmagna I might have to pass by the dealership

i have a similar issue ,
we dont use the factory remote at all , just the keys.

sometimes when we unlock the drivers door with the key the alarm goes off, needing the key in ignition to silence it.

only happens on odd times and we got used to it. i did fit a second hand key barrel switch to make the doors unlock from drivers door. may be related , not sure.
