Hey guys whenever I start my car up, it will rev as normal but then stall. If I press on the accelrator it will half stall. What i mean by that is the car revs up, then drops to 0rpm like its going to stall but then it revs back to 1000-2000rpm.

However when it does stall the first time it will not stall a second time when I turn the car on.

Any ideas as to what is making it stall?

Cheers

im not sure i dont think the battery has been changed since 2006. How long do batteries usually last?

thats about as long as batteries last. friend had same symptoms, turned out to be the battery.
do you have a sound system in it? and reguraly listen to it with the engine off?
have you flatterned the battery ever?
these things tend to kill the life of them

I had the same symptoms the other week, then it started to crank slower then nothing. (battery dead)
Replaced battery, fixed..

havent done or do any of the above. I thought it could be the immobiliser playing up. I think there was an article on it .

Same problem with the Verada and it was the battery..Always started 2nd time and ran,but would usually stall first time..New battery,no problems..

I can vouch for battery... In my TH when it died it would kick over, rev up a little, then revs would drop and as the idle controller tried to raise it back up, it would stall. I believe there is a voltage drop issue when the battery is on its last legs, and this is the first sign.

This had been happening occasionally to me and had been driving me loopy.
Thanks guys, it's due for a service soon so i'll get that swapped over.
