Hey guys
these parts i have collected over the last couple of months i want fitted now what i want to know is:
with the new fuel pump fitted am i still going to be able to drive the car (normal ) or is it going to play up.
If i wire the ECU in (greddy Emanage), with no tune on it is it going to affect the car at all
lastly, The FPR, if this is set to the stock psi this shouldn't make a difference?
the reason why im asking these questions is because im getting ready to get this tunes :woot::eek2:

1)well the fuel pump will pump more fuel when needed. it will be fine for a standard car (why did you get a new fuel pump??? mildly modded magnas dont need bigger fuel pumps....)
2) If its not active I dont think it will be. if its active i.e. powered up with no tune it may not work. I think Disciple had an incident where his piggyback wiped its tune for no reason when he was shopping one time and the car wouldnt start. Id drive it to the shop with that ecu hooked up but not powered on.
3) correct, all you would need is this in a 3rd gen anyway. Ive been in a few modded 3rd gens and there fuel delivery is fine....Ive heard the 3rd gen pumps are good for up to 180kw+s atw's so not sure why you have either of these TBH! and these were in cars with ralliart cams....those tighe ones you have are pretty much identical to them

the only way to tell if the pump will be fine is if you tell us what pump it is. Ive know people to put to big of a pump in their car and it would outflow the standard fuel line and rails, and using the stock FPR would cause overfuelling, but im talking Bosch 040 on a 1.8L NA pulsar here.
i believe the G-reddy emanage is able to be wired in (once its wired in it has to be ON for the car to run, as some wires are cut and the emanage put inbetween the loop so to speak, asits just an interceptor/ piggy back. With it completely wired in you can just drive the car as normal as all values will be 0% in the mapping. You need to be very sure about the wiring though, jap stuff has a way of making wiring schemcatics aweful confusing aka SAFCII what a PITA for 8 wires
I assume you have just a standard 1:1 rising rate FPR? If you set this to stop base pressure, and connect the vaccum line then it will function as standard. If you got a 1.2:1 or 1.5:1 then its going to start affecting the cars drivabilty/fuel consumption slgithy, not a problem if you get the emanage tuned

i'm using the walbro pump that is used in the sprintex magnas and yes the FPR is a standard one its a malpassie one. The ecu came with the wiring diagram (came out of a members car)

2 more questions, I've got a wiring diagram for the emanage ecu and its for a TH, is this different to a TJ sports ecu at all. Because I've got a mates brother at work who is going to wire it on for me
secondly with regards to the fuel pump, am i better off getting the tuner to fit the pump and fpr before he tunes it?

Does the FPR have a gauge? if it does, put it in yourself, i have pics of mine here if you wanna install it. piece of piss. the just make sure the pressure is set as standard.
Pump I've never installed but looking at pump assembly's you could DIY that.
As long as the major signals for the CAS are the same it shouldnt be an issue really.

yea it does have a look in my members ride thread for pics. as for the pump I'm concerned that it may over fuel.
i can't find the wiring diagram in the 3rd gen workshop manual grrr

The pump overfuel as the injectors are still opening for the same time and it's still regulated to that pressure. even if it DOES overfuel, Thats not a bad thing. under-fueling is the killer

cool, just need to find out if the ecu wiring is different

You can install the pump on your own. Piece of cake. Think I posted some pics up of my install and a lot of details some time ago. Getting the smell out of the car afterwards however....
Does NOT adversly affect the car's running at all. You wont even notice the difference.
The interceptor wont affect anything if it's correctly installed and values are zero'd.
Don't go silly with the FPR as walbros can be sensitive to pressure. You heard it here.

Cool Thats the info I needed, I done a search and I think the stock fuel pressue is around 40psi
