Hi all,

I am most likely going to be buying some Boge shocks and King SP springs from Phillcom, but want to know if there is anything I should get as well to change over while I have them off. Any rubbers, boots, bump stops etc etc.

Oh and rough pricing on the parts if you have them handy :)

Cheers
Pete

Check your power steering rack boots, tie rod ends, and CV boots. (professional check if needed) since the shocks will need to be disconnected anyway, change them if they need doing. Saves labour later on down the track.

I know CV boots are ok as only had them replaced a while ago. Will check the rest.

From what I can see there seems to be some sort of boot on the upper end of the front shocks... is this just some sort of dust boot? Worth replacing?

thats the bumpstop your best bet is to replace them whilst you have everything out

cost me $25 each from pedders, been told autobarn are alot cheaper. give them a call perhaps? or even bursons.
TR/TS bumpstops should be the same aswell. same front struts anyway

Hmmm got someone who did know what they were talking about this time:

Front:
Bump Stops MB349347 $67.75 each (in GST)
Dust Cover AW334257 $3.10 each

Rear:
Bump Stops MB242352 $52.75 each
Dust Cover AW346816 $5.60 each

So an extra $258.40... damn...

And they fitted ok? I read one guy on the web who had a bit of difficulty fitting after market bump stops...

nah man fitted fine. its just a bit of foam (obvioulsy thick foam) that slides over the shock.

my 16yo bumpstop next to new pedders one :P

Go to wreckers and look on any toyota, they are identical to the one tuffy has pictured, and they are only $2 (well in NZ anyway) i paid $4 for mine and they are perfect. Please dont spend $200 plus on bumpstops!!!!

I don't see the point in replacing 2nd hand with 2nd hand so will ring Autobarn and see what they can do.

Try the Monroe Strut Mate, these are not only bump stops but complete boots that cover the entire damper rod to prevent dirt etc getting in and wearing your seals

They are about the same price as Mits ones but IMO a lot better

Do you have a part number? I am struggling to find a number. Sprints will do it for $93 per kit! Don't know if that includes one or two sides though. And it seems to be only for the front?

Edit: It is only for the front. No rear listed. Part Number 63619 (same as commodore apparently) and Stable Suspension charges about $38. Kit consists of one side only so I would need 2.
