For those that are interested Hold down the display button above the stereo and then turn ignition to accessory. Hold display button for 5 seconds and a service menu comes up in the display.

Only useful thing I found in it was that one of the menus displays battery voltage.

Yes it does however it is inconclusive re its readings. I initially attempted to use it when my battery was failing July last year.

The other interesting item in the menu system is input for a compass however I have never found what could drive this in other models.

The US Galant has a compass... probably for that.

didnt the NM/NP Pajero exceed have the same/similar screen with climate comtrol, clock and also a compass?... just a wild guess
