I have noticed that my 380 is geting harder to start - it takes a few more cranks especially when cold. That said it is on its original battery and the car was manufactured in late 2005 so it is probably due for a new battery.
This morning - especially cold - it was doing the same thing. Took 5 or so cranks to start - then the CEL light stayed on.
I am fairly sure the difficult cranking caused the CEL light to trigger as the car drives as normal.
Is there anyway I can clear the CEL without a trip to the dealer? It is a pain in the ass to leave the car with them. Or should I check the fault code rather than doing that.
I am getting a new battery this weekend

Wait until the weekend when you get your new battery. When they disconnect to install the new battery the CEL will be reset.

I dont know but it worked
it dropped a CEL just before I was going to a social meet and I was not happy
disconnected the battery and sat in the car with the foot on the brake (to drain the EPROM ??) started the car with a jump pack and it was gone
