there are threads about it, i made one myself when i did an engine and manual conversion.
are you upgrading to a 3.5L or swaping out your 3.0L

just swapping my blown 3.0l with a new 3.0l

thought about doing a conversion? there seams to be more 3.5L engines available than 3.0L
the amount of work is about the same, just got to source a set of 3.5L exhaust manifolds

oh ok, well best advice i can offer, is take the wreck appart, and abserve how its done.
so all electricals, fuel lines, drive shafts, exhaust, coolent, aircon( will need to be reclaimed by a aircon mechanic)
throttle cable, if the gearbox is in good nick, do a straight swap, it will be a lot easier

Dont remove the aircon, just take the compressor off the engine and hang it with some wire, no need to disc or degas that way
Other than that, is very easy, lift the engine and trans out as one unit, a little tilt and will come out nicely

cheers, any tips for removing it out of the engine bay and putting it back in like angles or anything? it just seems like it may be a bit hard to get out..

if the wreck is going to be scrapped, shouldnt it be reclaimed? that S**T is nasty for the ozone, even tho Aus standards have switched over to R134A
